- 1). Lay a 6-by-6 inch piece of origami paper on a clean surface. Fold 1 inch of one side over and crease the fold.
- 2). Flip the paper over so the folded side faces down. Bring the fold up and back over another inch of the paper and crease.
- 3). Repeat until you have five parallel creases in opposite directions and six even sections in an accordion shape. Fold the bottom of one end of the folded paper and open the folds of the other end.
- 1). Place a piece of paper on a clean surface. Fold the first crease over 1 inch of the paper in an accordion fold parallel to the side of the paper.
- 2). Fold the second crease at an angle to the first crease.
- 3). Continue folding the pleats at the angle established by the second crease. The is also known as a swivel fold.
- 1). Lay an unfolded piece of paper on the table. Fold 1 inch of the side of the paper over and crease it.
- 2). Turn the paper over. Place your finger 1/2 inch from the folded side, and fold the paper along the point marked by your finger and parallel to the first crease to create uneven sections.
- 3). Turn the paper over and fold it where the bottom crease aligns.
- 4). Continue to alternate the folds to align with the 1 inch and 1/2 inch sections to form peaks and valleys. This rise and falling pattern is also referred to as a stair-step fold.
