Bird Base

• 1). Place a sheet of origami paper on a hard surface with its white side up and one corner pointed toward you.
  
  
• 2). Fold the left corner over to meet the right, then unfold.
  
  
• 3). Fold the upper sides down to meet the center crease.
  
  
• 4). Turn the paper over and rotate it so that it looks like a square.
  
  
• 5). Fold the top edge down to meet the bottom edge, then unfold.
  
  
• 6). Fold the left edge over to meet the right edge, then unfold. Rotate the paper so that it looks like a diamond.
  
  
• 7). Fold all four points together, then flatten the shape. It should now look like two diamonds joined at the center crease.
  
  
• 8). Fold the bottom edges of the top layer over to meet the center crease.
  
  
• 9). Fold the top point down over the top of the bottom edges.

  Undo the last three folds.

  Turn the model over and repeat.

  Pick up the bottom point of the top layer and raise it up until its sides meet in the middle. Flatten the shape.
