- 1). Complete a needs assessment in the community in which you wish to start the female youth organization. This can be a simple questionnaire that asks teens, their parents and the schools what they think the girls need out of an organization. Focus your organization on the answers that you receive from the needs assessment to make it most helpful to the community.
- 2). Create a mission statement for the organization. Write down the goals that you would like to see happen in the short and long term.
- 3). Write a plan for program funding. You can start small with community fundraising and/or dues from the members, but you need a plan for how you are going to raise money for projects. Look into grants in the community for female organizations within the local, state and federal government. Consider partnering with local businesses to raise funds.
- 4). Locate other people willing to help you start this venture. Recruit female teens to be the first members of the organization and have them help you spread the word about it to other teen girls.
- 5). Evaluate the program regularly with surveys, assessments and questionnaires, so that you have an idea of whether the organization is actually helping the teen girls.
