How to Clean Solid Surface Countertops

Instructions

1

Know your countertop surface. Most of the man-made solid surface countertops have three types surfaces: high-gloss, semi-gloss or matte/satin finish. The integrated sinks are always matte/satin finish.
2

Use hot, soapy water, mild cleanser or any type of non-window ammonia-based cleaner to wipe down the countertops and sinks for everyday cleaning and removal of dirt and food stuff. You can also use special solid surface cleaners but they may be a little more expensive.
3

Rinse thoroughly with water and wipe completely dry to prevent hard water stains which tend to dull the surface.
4

Use special cleaners that are made to remove hard water stains on the solid surface countertop or sink, rise thoroughly and dry completely with a clean cloth.
5

Disinfect the countertop or sink using a mild bleach solution of equal parts water and bleach. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a clean cloth. Disposable disinfecting kitchen wipes can also be used.
6

Use a mild, non-woven scrubbing sponge to get out any tough stains on the countertop or in the sink.
7

Clean dull countertop surfaces with a very mild liquid abrasive cleaner and rub in a circular motion, polishing over the entire surface. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a clean cloth to restore luster.
