- 1). Open your default web browser and navigate to the game publisher's website. If you are unsure of the exact URL, it is often listed on the game packaging.
- 2). Locate the "Support" or "Downloads" section. The option to re-download already purchased files is often in the "Support" section, though this will vary.
- 3). Locate the specific game and follow the instructions on the site to locate the downloadable installer. Save the installer to your desktop. You may need to log in to the site using credentials set up when the game was purchased in order to access the full game download. Each site will be set up differently, depending on the game and/or publisher. When in doubt, contact the game's support staff.
- 4). Double-click the downloaded file to launch the game installer. Follow the directions to complete the install. You may be asked to enter your serial number/activation key during installation, which you will have on the original disk with which you are having trouble. You may need to restart the computer after the install completes. If you were not asked to enter the serial number during installation, you will need to upon first launching the game.
