How to Cover a Headband With Ribbon

    • 1). Measure out a piece of ribbon that is twice the length of the headband and 1/4 inch wider to give a margin for the side seams.

    • 2). Cut the ribbon in half and lay the pieces on top of each other, with the right sides of the ribbon facing together.

    • 3). Sew the headband cover together, but leave both ends open. You can use a sewing machine or do a straight stitch by hand. See Resources for examples of basic sewing stitches you can do by hand.

    • 4). Turn the ribbon inside out.

    • 5). Push the headband through the ribbon until the entire headband is covered. Fold extra ribbon width or length under the headband and secure it with a hot glue.
