How to Fold a Toilet Paper Origami Heart

    • 1). Create your initial guideline folds. Without tearing it from the roll, fold one sheet of toilet paper diagonally and make a crease. Unfold it, and fold it diagonally from the opposite corner to make another crease. Unfold it again, to reveal an X-shaped crease that will be your initial guideline.

    • 2). Fold the sheet in half. Pull the bottom edge upwards towards the top of the sheet and line it up straight across the perforated line. Run your finger against the fold to make a crease from one end to the other. The diagonal guideline creases should now resemble a perfectly centered "V" shape.

    • 3). Place your finger at the lower, center point of the crease and hold it down securely. Place your finger inside of the fold on the right side, and pull the corner upwards and to the left until the right half of the horizontal crease is lined up vertically in the center. Repeat this step on the left side. You should now have two V-shaped pockets, one in front of the other.

    • 4). Hold down the lower center point with one finger, and grasp the top-right corner of the front pocket with your other hand. Pull the flap upwards towards the center so that the outside fold lines up vertically down the center of the pocket. Do the same thing on the left side to create a kite-shaped fold.

    • 5). Hold down the lower center point and gently pull your kite-shaped fold slightly forward. Reverse the fold on the left side by carefully pushing the crease outwards and to the left until it meets with the outer crease on the back fold. Run your finger along the fold to reinforce the crease, and repeat this procedure on the right side, pushing the inner crease outward and to the right. Your front pocket should take on a diamond shape.

    • 6). Fold down the top corners of your diamond-shaped flaps. Your diamond shaped pocket should consist of two flaps. Take the top point of the right flap and pull it down and to the right until it meets with the right corner, and the left top point down and to the left until it meets with the left corner, and make defined creases on each side. You should now have a 'V' shaped opening at the top; that resembles a collared neckline.

    • 7). Reverse-fold each side of the top flaps. Using the crease you just made as your guideline, open the right-side fold and tuck the point inwards to make a peak at the top right flap. Repeat this step on the left side. Press down along each side to reinforce the folds. You should be able to see the heart-shape taking form by this point.

    • 8). Apply the finishing touches and reinforce your design. Your heart should have two slightly separated points at the top of each side. Fold each point backwards about 1/4 inch to round out the peaks. Press firmly across all folds and creases to complete the heart-shaped origami design.
