My name is Carol Hughes. I'm the Owner of Custom Costumes of Rochester. I've been a Costumer for 26 years. Today, I'm going to show you how to make an 80s costume. Okay. The last couple of years, 1980s costumes have become popular, probably due to the fact that 25, 30-year range has kind of turned into costumes or vintage clothing that people like to do for Halloween. I'm going to give you a couple examples based on the same theme. This style was worn by Madonna in the 1980s. In the 80s, Madonna started a fashion craze by wearing her underwear on the outside. Here the outfit is a fancy bustier with the famous oversize cones for the bra. This type is paired with a small black print crinoline and feather boa. You could add a pair of black fishnets for this outfit if you will. Another outfit, very similar, we call Cyndi Lauper. This, we put a colorful crinoline with it and maybe not such a exaggerated bustier. And to that, we would add leggings and lots of beads. And she had wild colored hair if you want to be Cyndi Lauper.
