Lingzie recommends, "When in Tamil Street, try the famous Window Sherbet (Ais Tingkap). This drink has been around since the late 1920s. It was first sold over a window, hence the name.
"Ais Tingkap is a cold drink made up of shaved ice, rose syrup, and basil seeds (which expands into a translucent seed with a black "eye" inside, looking very much like tadpole's egg!) The drink is then topped up with coconut flesh and coconut water.
Lastly a spray of secret herb mixture is added. Very refreshing indeed! This stall operates from 8am-2pm. Closed on Sundays."
