There is another option for you to consider when applying to college.
It is called the early decision offer.
There are some selective colleges that will let you apply in early November and December, unlike other colleges and universities.
They will also return their decision to you before January 1, letting you know if you have been accepted or rejected.
They're different names for this, such as the early decision and early action.
There are advantages for you and the college for doing this.
The advantage for you is that you will quickly discover if you are top choice college will accept or reject you.
This way you will know where you are going or what else you have to do in the middle of your senior year.
If you do not get accepted, you will have time to apply to other schools.
The early decision is also an advantage for colleges as well.
Once you sign up, they have one committed freshman attending their school.
This student is surely to be there when fall comes around.
Other applicants who are also applying to other four-year colleges, may decide not to enroll their University or College.
The college has money in the bank so to say when you have committed to the early decision.
There have been horror stories to where students who have applied to colleges with early decisions and got rejected in develop with nowhere to go.
Your parents may also know others who experienced this same scenario when they were applying for college.
Your parents may have friends whose children have experienced this scenario when applying for college.
You will always have exceptions to the rule in life, it's just the way it is.
Do not let the stories that are you from applying and trying your very best.
The one downfall to considering accepting an early application is that you will not be able to apply to any other colleges.
Most colleges will make you sign a piece of paper stating you agree not to apply or enroll to any other college while they are reviewing your application.
If you have already applied to other colleges, they may make you withdrawal your application.
You should keep this in mind when considering the early decision or early action option.
