- 1). Take your measurements first thing in the morning so that you measure your legs while they are at their smallest size and record your measurements.
- 2). Use a tape measure the distance around the smallest part of your ankle. You should measure above the round bones (malleoli) of the ankle. The ankle is the most important measurement you will make, so be sure it is correct.
- 3). Measure around the largest part of your calf.
- 4). Measure around the fullest part of your thigh to get your thigh size if you are purchasing chap or waist length stockings. Also measure around the fullest area of your hips.
- 5). Use a bathroom scale to measure your weight and record your weight.
- 6). Measure your height with the tape measure if you do not know precisely how tall you are. You will need to know your height, weight and shoe size when purchasing your some support stockings.
- 7). Cross reference your measurements with the sizes listed on the support stockings' packaging to ensure you get the right fit.
