Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Heat the duct tape residue with a hair dryer. The heat softens the glue so that it can be removed.
2
Spray citrus-based solvent cleaner on the duct tape residue so that the glue is completely covered. Allow it to soak into the adhesive for five minutes.
3
Lift as much of the duct tape adhesive as possible with a scraper.
4
Dampen a portion of a clean cloth with mineral oil. Use enough oil to leave about a half dollar-sized oil spot on the cloth. Rub the oil into the remaining duct tape residue before allowing it to sit for five minutes.
5
Work the oil into the adhesive by rubbing it with the cloth. Add more oil, as needed, to lift stubborn areas. Continue to rub the adhesive until it's gone.
6
Pour undiluted vinegar on a clean cloth. Clean the surface of your item with straight vinegar to remove the oil and any last remnants of the duct tape adhesive.
