Best Eczema Diet Treatment Options

Eczema diet treatment options involve treating eczema by controlling the patient's diet.
Eczema is a skin condition which people (typically kids) with dry skin are susceptible to.
Some parts of the skin become itchy and irritated.
At times bumps and sores are also formed.
In children the sores may ooze.
Eczema is a very irritating disease and for those who are conscious about their appearance, daunting since the disease could leave scars and sores on your body.
In many people the condition is caused or aggravated by certain food items.
Such being the case, eczema diet treatment involves not having those food items to which you are allergic to.
The commonly found triggers for eczema include cow's milk, soya, diary products, tomatoes, citrus fruits, nuts, currants and berries, fish (including shellfish), certain food additives such as benzoates, azo dyes and sulphites.
The studies, which involved eczema diet treatment that avoided these foods showed a 20 percent improvement in the patient's condition.
If you or your baby is prone to eczema and you have somebody in your family who is allergic to any of these food products (or any food item), then there is a good chance that food is the trigger which caused eczema.
This would surely help in that case.
You could check if food is the cause by finding out whether there is an aggravation in the condition a few hours (four to six) after the meal.
Another type of eczema diet treatment involves eating only certain items and avoiding all the rest.
For example a diet may contain a meat that could be turkey or lamb, three vegetables such as potato, broccoli and rice, a fruit which is usually pear, and a breakfast cereal.
Almost 25% of the subjects stopped suffering from eczema due to this diet.
Another more experimental diet treatment involved using an elemental diet such as Vovonex for a few weeks to see if there is some improvement.
There are of course certain severe drawbacks to this including lack of nutrition, not to mention the fact that this is still in experimental stage.
