If you want to do one of the best upper body workouts there is you should be doing pull-ups.
Unfortunately it is one of the most difficult exercises to do for many people.
If you have trouble doing pull-ups and try to avoid them do not give up.
You can learn to do them if you give yourself time to try.
There are some ways to do pull-ups to make it easy at first till you start getting stronger.
I think at first it will not matter which way you place your hands on the bar till you can do them with little trouble.
I'll show you some ways to help get you started.
1.
Grasp the bar with your hands and simultaneously jump up and pull yourself up to the bar.
Repeat this 10 times with a short rest in between.
An alternative is to jump up to the bar and try to lower yourself slowly.
2.
Place a chair under the pull-up bar, stand on the chair and grasp the bar.
Step off the chair and slowly lower yourself down.
Repeat 10 time with a short rest in between.
3.
You can have someone stand behind you and help lift you up as you pull.
Lower yourself down on your own.
4.
If you feel your hands are not strong enough to hang onto the bar, start doing some grip strength exercises.
Even just hanging from the bar will help your grip.
5.
If all you can do is pull yourself up part way, that is better than not at all.
Do partial pull-ups.
Keep at it and you will be able to do some good complete ones This exercise is great for strengthening the back, shoulders, arms and grip and should be part of every ones workouts.
If you keep practicing you will get better at it.
