Whether you run a business or service from your home or just enjoy a whole lot of hobbies and sports, storage for all your goods is essential. There never seems to be enough storage indoors, yet the very place that could be used is usually under-utilised. Garage storage cabinets can be fitted into those spare spaces in the garage and used to store a plethora of equipment that does not yet have a home.

In addition, keeping what you need in the garage means it is all conveniently to hand when you need it. You will know exactly where you put everything and if you don't, it is easy enough to get labels for all those drawers. Such cabinets or shelves need to be strong but narrow so that they can be fitted into the garage without encroaching too much on your car or boat space.

Depending on what goods you have to store, you may need lockable drawers to ensure that no little fingers can get into them. And of course, locks also keep your goods safer from theft. If you have expensive tools or sporting equipment you would not want to leave them in a place where a thief could find easy access to them. Steel cupboards with lockable drawers would be the ideal place to secure such items.

If you have a boat you may find that having extra storage in it makes life a great deal easier for you. You can have storage units fitted in a way that takes into consideration weight placement as well as keeping those items safe from damage when the waves get a bit rocky. You would not want open shelving, as items would simply fall off whenever the boat rocked a bit. However, shelves with a front board may keep most items safe. Otherwise you may prefer to have drawers or secure doors to the storage units.

If you have your work van fitted out with shelving, or have to carry cargo of any kind, it is a good idea to install cargo barriers so that the passengers and driver can be safe. Heavy goods that are flung forwards in an accident or when you brake hard can become dangerous missiles if there is no barrier to protect you.

You may need to have such things installed in your van, or if you are a handyman you may be able to install them yourself. Once you get everything set up to your satisfaction you will have peace of mind that you and your goods can be kept safe.
