Essential Camera Accessories For The Beginner

Having a good digital camera definitely gives you an advantage in taking impressive and quality photos.
However, if you want to improve your photography skills, there are certain accessories that you might want to consider.
Choosing which gadget to get may seem overwhelming at first what with all the choices in the market but if you know the basic and most essential things to get, it will greatly help you in making the right decision.
Memory card.
Even if your camera has internal memory storage, having a spare memory card or media storage device will be helpful.
This is important especially if you are doing outdoor or travel photography or even if you just want to capture and store more photos.
There are different kinds of memory cards with different range of capacities (from 2GB to 64GB) and camera compatibilities.
Be sure to check the camera manual to help you select a memory card that is compatible to your camera's performance.
Tripod.
To the novice, a tripod may seem like an optional and bulky accessory to have.
But this practical gadget can actually go a long way in helping you take better pictures.
Not only does it provide additional stability and minimize incidences of blurry pictures, a tripod can also help you set the camera at angles that you normally won't be able to physically do.
With a remote shutter, you can even do self-portraits.
Think of the tripod as an investment and be sure to get one that is sturdy and can support the weight of your camera.
Batteries.
There is no worse feeling than failing to take that precious shot just because your camera has lost power.
Most digital cameras today tend to use a lot of power so having spare batteries with you is always a smart idea.
If you are planning on getting rechargeable batteries, you might also want to consider getting a portable battery charger.
Lens filters.
UV or clear filters provide protection for your lenses from sunlight, scratches, dust or water.
There are certain types of filters that can also help improve the quality of your photos by reducing flares or reflections or add drama and color to the images.
As with the other accessories, make sure to get a good quality, multi-coated lens filter that will last a long time and give your camera lens maximum protection.
Camera bag.
Being a camera owner, you need to have a bag that can hold your gadget and its accessories.
But it should not just be any kind of bag.
As you go on with photography, you will learn that the right kind of bag makes a big difference in terms of convenience and ease of access to your gadgets.
You may want to think of the different scenarios where you will need to lug a camera bag around.
If you are going to do a lot of travelling, you should look at getting a bag that is soft and comfortable to carry.
Compartment areas as well as water protection are also important factors to consider.
