Mizuno claims that MP-63 is the evolution of the company's most popular tour iron the MP-62. Assuming you are not a tour player or top amateur, should you look farther down the Mizuno line for some more forgiveness? Well, yes and no.

The Mizuno MP 63 Irons Set is the evolution of Mizuno's most popular Tour iron. The legendary Grain Flow Forging process combines with an innovative Diamond Muscle design to create the perfect blend of feel and control in a player's cavity.

The design goal of the MP-63 was to take the profile attributes of the Grain Flow Forged MP-62 (head size, top line, offset, sole width) so prolific on the world's tours and create an improvement in both feel and versatility.

While developing the MP-63s, Mizuno tapped their tour team to blindly try out various new concepts. The winner, reportedly unanimously, was the "Diamond Muscle" design, the latest in the line of "muscle" themes Mizuno has used in recent years, beginning with the Cut Muscle clubs, continued with the Dual Muscle MP-52 and 62, and last year's Dual Muscle Titanium MP-58 and 68.

Mizuno studied vibration simulations of the head and experimented with several methods of affecting the sound and feel at impact (Harmonic Impact Technology). Numerous new concepts were then blind tested by Mizuno's tour team (including the MP-62's inspiration Luke Donald) and the Diamond Muscle Design, which reinforces the head from heel to toe, was the unanimous winner.

The sole of the Mizuno MP 63 Irons includes the visible 360° grind on the trailing edge for precise turf interaction that delivers complete shot versatility. Mizuno's first ever reverse flow within the set, means the 63's longer irons are larger than the very compact short irons - ensuring a new balance of forgiveness and precision.
