How to File Complaints About a Toyota Manhattan Dealership

    • 1). First, call the Toyota dealership manager and express your concerns about the service. If the manager cannot address your complaint, contact the Toyota company directly, using their Customer Experience Hotline: 800-331-4331 when dialing from the US. If you still cannot get resolution, then continue on to the Better Business Bureau.

    • 2). Visit the Better Business Bureau online. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has an excellent website that allows you to file complaints about any company in the United States and Canada. Visit the website (listed in the Resources section of this article) and input your zip code to reach your local version of the website, or simply click on the "US Version" button.

    • 3). Select the "File a Complaint" option from the main page. This will start the process of filing a complaint against the business. On the first input page of your complaint you will need to state what country your complaint is being filed in, what type of product or service the complaint is made against and whether or not you are enrolled in the military.

    • 4). Enter your location. The filed complaint will be routed to the BBB office responsible for the area where your complaint originated: in this case, the Metropolitan New York Office. Remember that most dealerships are privately-owned, and not owned by the actual car company. So put in the zip code where your dealer is located.

    • 5). Locate the business. You can locate the business that you are filing against either through a phone number, address or website URL. If for some reason the business isn't listed, you will have an opportunity to input the information manually.

    • 6). Detail your complaint. Once you've located the business, you will have opportunity to briefly detail your complaint. Try to be as specific as possible, listing times, dates and employee names, if you have them. Submit the form and you will receive confirmation and information on how to check on the status of your complaint.

    • 7). Wait for resolution. It can take a while for the company to receive your complaint and respond. Be patient. If you don't get a response for several weeks, use the information provided to you in your confirmation email to follow up on the status.
