- Miles upon miles of land in Utah is designated as public land administered for public use. As such, Utah offers exceptional off-roading opportunities for Jeep owners. Although state parks do not permit off-road vehicles, many trails adjacent to state parks allow Jeeps. Before attempting to drive any trail in Utah, Jeep drivers should check all laws and restrictions for each trail.
- Utah County is located in North Central Utah, surrounded by mountains and home to Utah Lake. It is home to several off-road trails. The Silver Lake Trail is located near American Fork, Utah and is characterized by canyon vistas and woodlands. The Forest Lake Trail is also located near American Fork, Utah. The Forest Lake Trail's first mile is rough and requires Jeep drivers to go through a stream. However, the lower part of the trail because slightly less rocky. The Little Moab offers sand dunes and rock formations. It is also home to the Nutty Putty Cave, which was permanently closed on Nov. 28, 2009 due to a caver's death. The Mineral Basin Trail is also located in Utah County and is known for being very rocky, moderately steep and extremely scenic.
- Tooele County is located in the northwestern part of Utah that covers part of the Great Salt Lake desert. Rattlesnake Trail, located in Tooele County, is located near Fairfield, Utah. The trail is approximately two and a half miles one way. The trail begins near Sunshine Canyon and has several moderately sized rocks. Five Mile Pass is also located in Tooele County. Located approximately 15 miles west of Lehi, UT, Five Mile Pass offers several options for Jeep drivers. The north side of the pass is not for beginners and includes very steep mountainsides. The east and west sides of Five Mile Pass are more flat, and easier for beginners and intermediates.
- San Juan County is located in southeastern Utah. The Gemini Bridges trail is located in the Moab and is one of the more popular off-roading areas in Utah. The Bridges are two side-by-side bridges, several hundred feet high. East of the trail lies the La Sal Mountains and Arches National Park. The trail can be rocky, especially the last quarter of a mile before Gemini Bridges. The Baby Lions Back is also located in San Juan County. Baby Lions Back is a shorter trail, but also a good introductory trail to individuals new to off-roading.
