For indoor ice rinks, you can pay as you go, or use your Vancouver OneCard (universal membership access to all facilities run by the Vancouver Park Board, including all indoor Vancouver ice rinks). •Year-Round Indoor Ice Rinks in Vancouver
There's no need to wait for winter to go ice skating in Vancouver: Vancouver has three, public, indoor ice rinks that are open year-round. Run by the Vancouver Park Board, these rinks offer skate and helmet rentals, as well as skating lessons, special seasonal events, and skating birthday packages and private rink rental.

•Seasonal Indoor Ice Rinks in Vancouver - September - March
Ice skating in Vancouver is even easier from September through March, when, in addition to the year-round ice rinks, five more neighbourhood ice rinks open throughout the city. Also operated by the Vancouver Park Board, these ice rinks also offer skating lessons and birthday party packages.

•Seasonal Outdoor Ice Rinks in Vancouver - November - March
If you want go outdoor ice skating in Vancouver, there are only two options: the Robson Square Ice Rink in downtown Vancouver (across the street from the Vancouver Art Gallery) and atop Grouse Mountain (in North Vancouver, about 15 minutes north of downtown Vancouver).
The hugely popular Robson Square Ice Rink opens November 15, 2013, and runs through February 28, 2014. Admission is free, and you can rent skates and helmets on-site.
Outdoor ice skating at Grouse Mountain on their Ice Skating Pond usually runs from late-November through the end of March, depending on weather. Admission to the Pond is included in access to Grouse Mountain via the Grouse Mountain Alpine Experience admission ticket, Membership, Winter Pass, or Lift Ticket.
