The Many Options for your Child’s New Furniture

Expecting parents need some type of nursery or children's furniture for their offspring. Cribs, changing tables and gliders are some common pieces of furniture that are used to provide comfort and safety to many young babies. Other items such as playpens, toddler and bunk beds are also used for practical and decorative reasons.
Cribs are important for protecting a child during the first few years of their lives. Guardrails that are attached to cribs keep babies from falling off the sides of the unit while they sleep or are being changed. Another benefit is that infants are contained within the crib so they will not wander into any type of danger. This is probably the one piece of furniture that all parents of newborn babies must possess.
Children must have their diapers changed and a changing table helps to make this process as smooth as possible. Changing tables have safety guardrails that are similar to a crib and these tables are only used to change a baby's diaper. Many changing tables are about four feet high which allows a parent to perform diaper changes without straining their back from bending too much. Changing tables also have shelving and/or compartments for diapers, wipes, cue tips and other baby supplies.
Gliders are the modern day version of rocking chairs and they are designed to slide from front to back with a gliding motion. Mothers who desire to rock their babies to sleep can use glider chairs to accomplish this task. Gliders are outfitted with padding and many even have a leg rest that glides along with the unit.
Rocking chairs are traditional nursery furniture pieces that are still used within many nurseries to put children to sleep. Playpens are important piece because they too keep a child from wandering around a home. There are different types of playpens and each one has its own unique design and/or accessories.
Toddler beds are small sized single beds with rails on both sides at the top part of the bed. Manufacturers make these beds to keep young children between the ages of two to four from rolling onto the floor. Bunk beds allow two siblings to sleep comfortably on the same unit with one at the top and the other at the bottom. They help to reduce space within an area since the beds are stacked and these types of beds have different styles, features and are made from a variety of materials.
High chairs are an important piece of furniture for young children because they allow a baby to sit securely with a family while they consume their meal. Day beds, dressers, tables, chairs, bean bags and throw pillows are other types of baby furniture and accessories that are used within many nurseries and children's rooms.
