It is easy these days to make money with digital photos.
People are finding that they can make money with images.
How do you earn money from photos?
You have to learn to take photos.
Now I am not saying you need to go on a course.
You can learn by taking photos.
Go out and take photos.
I am going to concentrate on taking pictures of people.
When you get home sit down and study those photos.
See if there is anything that makes it look bad.
Does it have red-eye?
This is caused by light reflecting off of the eye.
There are programs available online to get rid of red-eye from digital photos.
Use them to correct this problem.
Does your photo look natural?
The best photos look natural.
Do not make your photographs look false or staged.
Try and get some emotion in to the photo.
Is the person happy, sad, shocked or frowning?
Let their emotions show through.
Show how they are feeling.
When you look at the photo do you feel their emotion?
People's faces can show lots of emotions.
Does the background hide their emotions?
Look at the colour of the background.
Is it too bold?
Is the background too distracting?
All of these things can add to the photographs appeal.
As you get better at taking photographs you will learn what works and what does not.
You will get a knack for knowing the best backgrounds.
Next have a look at their clothes.
Are they wearing something unusual?
Is it interesting?
Do you see it every day?
Unusual clothing makes great photos.
It takes courage to wear certain clothes.
That means it is expressing something about the person.
Are they doing something unusual?
Doing something unusual can spark your curiosity.
Again make sure it is not staged.
People can usually see through this.
Then the originality is drawn into question.
You need to shock the viewer.
Make them ask how you took the photo?
Get the viewer to ask themselves questions.
What happened before this to get into that situation?
How did they get out of the situation?
The more questions the photo invokes in the viewer the better it is.
Have a look at your photo and see if it provokes any of these questions.
You want to stir up as much emotion as possible.
If it does not stir up any emotion then chances are it will not stir anyone else's emotion.
It is the emotion that sells photos.
