Jenx Bee Seating System

The Jenx Bee Seating System is an adjustable and modular medical supply product that enables children from the ages of 4 months to 5 years learn to sit. Various conditions and diseases and disabilities can make it difficult for some children to sit upright and participate with friends and family in conversation, playing, and eating.

Types of sitting enabled by the Bee Seating System:
  • Conventional sitting
  • reclined sitting
  • Tilt-in-Space sitting
  • Long leg sitting

The Bee Seating System is a chair on a 4-wheel base that comes with standard and optional accessories that make it a modular system. The modularity is important because it enables the child to get into the necessary position to engage with family members, caregivers, and friends in various ways. In other words it helps the child overcome some of the limitations of their disability.

Ways the Bee Seating System helps a child with a seating disability engage with others:
  • The Bee adjusts so the child can get low to the floor to play with siblings and friends.
  • The Bee adjusts in height so that the child can be at the table or breakfast bar to participate in family meals.

The Bee motif was designed to make sitting an enjoyable and fun experience that attracts a child to want to use it. The range of height adjustments and functionality adjustments were designed for the system to grow with the child and last for years.

The Bee Seating System includes:
  • seat shell
  • seat and back pads
  • push handle
  • footplate
  • 3-point pelvic belt
  • hip pads
  • flat headrest

The base is a required accessory so that you can choose which one you want, or even buy both at the same time.

Optional Accessories:
  • short fixed thoracics
  • flipaway thoracics with chest strap
  • long leg conversion
  • armrests
  • nursery tray
  • activity frame
  • knee blocks
  • footplate pad
  • bootees
  • sandals
  • abduction block
  • Multigrip(tm) shoulder protractor

Second, while colorful and attractive to both children and adults, it does not go as far as the Bee System to include a character motif in the design.

Third, there are a few positioning components, different from what the Bee offers, that allow new degrees of customized support for the child.
