5 Ways to Write a Catchy Headline

The most important part about a story is the headline.
If you have been on websites like yahoo or msn, you know what I am talking about.
In the front page, there are news with very catchy headlines.
I wouldn't doubt if you have clicked on the link because the headline had captured your attention.
Your first tip for writing a catchy headline is to visit yahoo or msn and try to see how the headlines for those news are written.
This well give you a taste of how professional headlines are.
Watch different category of news so you can understand better.
Sports and war news are explained almost the same way.
When looking at sports news, you will notice the headline is mostly about a specific player for the team.
For war news, it is about a specific person who died.
If I were to say, the news publishers are using scarcity, it might sound cheesy.
But it still unconsciously affects the way people see things.
  1. When you are writing your own headline, avoid capital letters.
Capital letters look like rectangular shaped letters, so people might skip by past it.
Although, I am not saying write every letter lower-case.
  2. Avoid using punctuation.
Punctuations make your headlines look very weak because there are pauses in it.
You need to be able to read it fast so you can understand what it is going to be about.
  3. Make sure your headline is short and simple.
You don't need a long one becausepeople are lazy to read most of the time.
  4. Give people a mysterious vibe.
When you write something like "This is just shocking, or people can't believe this," will make your audience questionBeing desperate psychologically makes people want to stay away from what you are offering them.
  5. Avoid making your headlines a sales pitch.
People will avoid it because it will seem like an advertisement.
Don't ever beg for attention and instead have people chase after you.
I can give you so many examples of internet marketers who send emails to their potential lists begging them to read their mail.
No! don't ever do such thing.
Always look professional.
A professional internet marketer's methods are to unconsiously make you go after whatever they are offering.
This means they are making you fall into their trap of words.
Words are everything, online and offline.
The way you communicate with someone determines how good of a rapport you build with them.
