Tips On Creating Kid Stuff Storage Space

It's important to include your kids in the make-up of their room.
After all, it is their room and they will be spending lots of time there.
First of all, it's best to decide how the room will be used and then portion off the room according to the needs.
For instance, it would be best to have the room divided into areas for homework, sleep, and play.
Use the general layout and furniture to separate the different areas.
Be sure to make the right choice when it comes to the containers you plan to use for storage.
Regardless of where you happen to put them, clear storage bins are by far the best option.
It doesn't matter if they end up in the room closet, the basement, or perhaps even the attic, by using clear containers it's not necessary to keep opening them all when you are looking for a particular item.
It can be pretty daunting to look at boxes that all look alike piled up to the ceiling.
In spots where you would normally use a wallpaper border, putting up shelves is a good space utilization alternative.
You can also optimize space by putting shelves within a foot of the ceiling.
usually this is wasted space, but in fact using high, narrow shelves creates an ideal storage area for books or toys.
When dealing with a smaller room, always be thinking "high" in order to make the most use of the area available.
Find some old dresser drawers and fit them with casters.
You can slide the drawers right under the bed and utilize all that wasted space that usually turns out to be a storing place for clutter.
This way the drawers can also be easily removed and re-arranged as needed.
In spots where shelves won't work, see if you can get your hands on an old school locker.
Another option is to create one solid unit by combining filing cabinets with a desk strategically placed near a window that will make it a more inviting place for a child to want to sit.
Another good option is to install glass or clear plastic doors on a cabinet so it's easy for everyone to see what's stored inside.
When it comes to the closet, try putting closet rods at a height that make them user friendly for kids and get them in the habit of hanging up their own clothes.
If there are some items that are very high up, be sure there is a stool available to stand on in order to reach the high items.
With a little ingenuity and thought there are many areas in a kids bedroom that can be utilized for storage and yet at the same time enable you to stay within your budget.
