Bulletin boards are great ways to keep things organized in a visual manner that's often easier to remember than other methods. In a nursery, where it's important that things be both colorful and organized, a bulletin board can be an easy way to keep track of necessary information that may come up from one day to the next. - A bulletin board can be used to keep track of who's attending the nursery that day. Take a picture of each child, and fix that picture to a small white board background with her name on it. Then take this picture and name combination and attach it to a thumbtack. Put the pictures of children who are attending the nursery that day up on the board. If the children are old enough, let them help. If you want the children to do it themselves, use a magnetic bulletin board or another method that doesn't risk injury.
- For a nursery with only one or a few children, a bulletin board could show a lot more information. For instance, it could hold schedules of times (snack time, nap time, medication time) to help keep the children's days on course. Information as to what they can or cannot eat is also a good thing to keep on the board. Also, list contact information for the parents.
- Children in a nursery are often beginning to develop reading and language skills. One of the ways to help them develop is to teach them to sing. Bulletin boards that have large text can list out song lyrics. If one of the nursery attendants holds up the bulletin board and follows the lyrics with the children as they sing, it will have a similar effect to reading aloud. Children will learn to recognize the words that they're singing, which will help them learn how to read more effectively.
