Amazon is said to be the house of largest reserves of wildlife and vegetation. Flora and fauna found over there are so distinct that the one of the ten known animal and plant species are found in the Amazon rainforest. This wet jungle is a hub for the biologists, zoologists and even some scientists who have been looking for the new species and knowing more about the ones who have been already discovered.

Every year tourist from all around the world comes down to Amazon rainforest to discover more about these jungles and its inmates. But for most of the people it is not possible to come down to America to visit this exquisite jungle and experience the wonders of the nature. To protect the species of this forest and to spread awareness about it, Singapore zoo has initiated river safari. These river safaris are created by combining all the major rivers of this world. To make it more exciting for the visitors, the animals from the habitats around these rivers are exhibited over here. Amazon being one of the most popular rainforest in this world, Amazon River trip is very popular in this wild life conservation park. Although the Amazon River is the second longest river and largest in the capacity of water, but it is not possible to put the entire river in the zoo, that's the reason they have only exhibited only that part of the river which is heavily inhabited by the wildlife. The wildlife conservation park has exhibited some of the animals found in the Amazon rainforest like the tapir, jaguar, and giant ant eater. These animals are displayed in their natural habitat therefore the visitors can understand how they live and behave in the rainforest.

All the visitors can start their tour from the Singapore cruise terminal and enjoy a long river safari by passing through all these forests. Also if some of the tourists and visitors want to know more about any particular section of the river safari, they can roam around on foot and learn about the wildlife reserves through the live video broadcasts. Amazon is said to be one of the largest hub of the wildlife but due to some illegal activities this reserves are facing serious damage.

Some builders and loggers are cutting down huge reserves of trees every day. Most of the trees found in the Amazon rainforest are more than hundred years old, and they are very crucial to maintain this place. The roots of the trees found in the Amazon have kept a hold on the soil so that it is not eroded by the Amazon River. But due to regular logging activities and deforestation, number of trees is decreasing heavily. Amazon River trip is a great way to initiate the conservation of the animals.
