1. 33rd Annual Harvard Square Oktoberfest & HONK! Festival Parade
On Sunday, October 2nd, 2011, head to Harvard Square for a family friendly celebration. Feast on foods from a variety of vendors and check out the surrounding stores, to explore the sales and take in the latest fashion. You can also enjoy local artwork to admire or purchase, along with live music, set up at six different stages. The HONK! Festival Parade will be arriving at 1:00 pm, to show their support for bikers and walkers in the area, so enjoy their music too. And what is a beer festival without some booze? 2. Davis Square Oktoberfest
On Sunday, October 2nd, 2011, the HONK! Festival Parade will start right in Davis Square before heading to Harvard Square. This annual Oktoberfest celebration will occur from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with an outdoor beer garden set up right at the Elm and Chester streets. Nosh on treats from Mike's Restaurant, Joshua Tree, Foundry on Elm, The Burren, and everyone’s favorite place for BBQ, Redbones. Plus, you can enjoy live music and dance the day away at this free event. There will also be two new contests, Stein Holding and Keg Rolling to get involved with.More »
3. Harpoon Oktoberfest
The 22nd Annual Harpoon Octoberfest will be held at the Harpoon Brewery in Boston on September 30th and October 1st. For $20, you can sip one of their signature beers, from a souvenir cup, while listening to German music and feasting on German food. Additional beers and a la carte snacks will be sold during the event as well. You can play a round of keg bowling or strut your stuff on the dance floor, during chicken dancing. The Friday session will be 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm and the Saturday hours are 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.More »
4. Oktoberfest Party at Toro
Toro, the award winning Spanish tapas restaurant in the South End in Boston, is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration. Tickets are available through members only website Gilt City for $60, for the event, which will be held on Sunday October 16th, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. With the admission fee, you get unlimited food, with menu selections including homemade sausages with corn and other German and Spanish treats. 5. Oktoberfest Der Beehive
Tuesday, October 4th, 2011, the Beehive, located at 541 Tremont Street, in Boston’s South End, is hosting “Oktoberfest Der Beehive.” Starting at 5:00 pm for dinner, join the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Goethe-Institute of Boston, for food, drinks, and fun. Executive Chef Rebecca Newell has created a special menu with Bavarian classics like German Sausage and House Roast Pork Knuckle, served with Sauerkraut and potatoes and snacks like pretzels, with Harpoon IPA and Octoberfest to wash it down.
