Taber Inn

• A little less than two miles from Lords Point, the Taber Inn is in the town of Mystic. The inn consists of 12 typically New England clapboard buildings set in landscaped grounds, with one of them, Cavan House, dating from 1829. • Set in 15 acres of gardens, the Inn at Mystic is a four-minute drive from Lords Point. The inn's main building is a 1904, hilltop mansion built in the colonial revival style. There's also the modern East Wing, where some rooms have patios or balconies. Finally, the Gate House is an antique-furnished cottage where Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall spent their honeymoon in 1945. • A five-minute drive from Lords Point and four blocks from Mystic's railway station, the Whalers Inn is housed in five adjacent buildings including a well-preserved Victorian house from 1865.
