- The Vulcan 500 LTD comes with a 4-stroke, parallel twin engine. The liquid-cooled engine's displacement is measured at 498 cubic centimeters. The Vulcan 500 LTD also features digital ignition with an anti hot-wire circuit for additional security. The 1998 Vulcan 500 LTD is equipped with a six-speed transmission.
- The Vulcan's tubular, double-cradle frame measures 232cm in length, 83cm in width and a height of 112cm. The seat height measures 71.5cm. The cruiser is also equipped with a 15L fuel capacity at 4.7L per 100km traveled at 60km/h.
- The 1998 Vulcan 500 is equipped with a single, semi-floating drill disc in the front while the rear has single drum brakes. A 41mm telescopic fork suspension is featured in the front with dual coil-cover shock absorbers in the rear.
