DIY Motorcycle Radiator Guard Material

    • 1). Measure the area to be covered around your radiator with a ruler.

    • 2). Mark the dimensions of the area on the stainless steel mesh with a ruler and a marker. Cut the stainless steel mesh using the wire cutter. You should cut slits in the mesh so that it fits snugly and around other objects on the bike. If you do this properly, the radiator guard will slide into place and may not need any fasteners.

    • 3). Fit the edges of the stainless steel mesh with sheet metal edging. The edging will either self-grip or you may need to tighten it with needle nose pliers. The edging will protect you and your bike from the sharp edges of the mesh.

    • 4). Fit the radiator guard to the bike. If you do this properly, you will not need to do any bending.

    • 5). Cut thick wire to form a fastener if the radiator guard feels loose. Tie the wire to the radiator guard and to an unnoticeable spot on the bike.
