- 1). Buy a racing motorcycle. Motorcycles such as the Yamaha YZR-M1 are used in MotoGP.
- 2). Race in small, local motorcycle races to gain experience. Enter races that are sponsored by the American Motorcycle Association. All races sponsored by that organization are professional and carry prestige in the motorcycle-racing circuit.
- 3). Perform in larger races and leagues such as the Red Bull Rookies Cup once you feel comfortable with your skills. Continue to progress on the circuit.
- 4). Sign up for MotoGP's 125cc division. This division is designed for young racers who aspire to race in the MotoGP. Participants must be between 16 and 28 years old to race in this division. The motorcycle's displacement cannot exceed 125cc.
- 5). Move up to Moto2 — the division directly under MotoGP — once you have won a few races and proven yourself to be competitive in the 125cc division. In Moto2, motorcycles have 600cc.
- 6). Send videos promoting your racing skills and achievement to MotoGP racing teams such as Cardion AB Motoracing, Rizla Suzuki MotoGP and Mapfre Aspar Team MotoGP. If a team likes your style and previous accomplishments, it may hire you.
