- The 2002 CR 80 R features a one-cylinder, transverse mounted engine that has a displacement of 83 CC. The two stroke engine is supported by a chain transmission and delivers just over 20 horsepower at 12,000 RPM. The bore and stroke are both 1.9 inches and the compression ratio measures 8.4-to-1. The bike has a six-speed gearbox and a liquid cooling system.
- The Honda CR 80 R weighs 143.1 lb. and sits 12.6 inches off the ground. The wheelbase measures 49.1 inches and the seat rests 32.8 inches off the ground if set at its lowest possible position. The front and rear suspensions are measured at 10.8 inches. The fuel tank holds up to 1.8 gallons and takes regular or premium unleaded fuel.
- The front wheels take tires with dimensions of 70/100-17, while the back wheels use tires with dimensions of 90/100-14. Ideal tire pressure is 0.07 PSI. The CR 80 R does not have a tire pressure indicator, so pressure should be routinely checked.
- The front and rear brakes are both single disc. The throttle and clutch are both cable operated. Unlike larger bikes, the CR 80 R is only designed for one rider at a time. The whole frame is made from steel and the bike takes synthetic 2T motor oil designed for two stroke engines. The bike has a reed valve train and uses NGK BR10EG spark plugs. The Analogue CDI ignition creates a single spark for the one-cylinder engine.
