    • The 2001 Honda Civic was the first entry of the model's seventh generation. The vehicle maintained the same trim categories and many of the same features, but it received a new body design with increased space and updated engine technology.     • All 2001 Civics came equipped with a 1.7-liter engine. The EX trim coupes and sedans offer 127 horsepower. The LX and DX trims came with 115 horsepower. The HX has 117 horsepower.

    Transmission

    • Both 2001 Civic sedans and Coupes were available with 4-speed automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission. Both types of transmission include overdrive.

    Fuel Economy

    • The HX trim has the highest gas mileage of the 2001 Civic trims, averaging 35 to 36 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 40 to 44 mpg on the highway. The LX and DX trims average 30 to 32 mpg in the city and 38 to 39 mpg on the highway. The EX trim averages 31 to 32 mpg in the city and 37 to 38 mpg on the highway.
