Natural Health Products or Synthetic Medicine: Which One Should It Be?

The Organic Movement has never been active by doing a series of promotion in going green not just in our diets but also in our medicines. We are all aware of the heating debate between synthetic medicines, the conventional products that are always prescribed by our doctors, and the natural health products, untested in laboratories but are organic and are results of the constant efforts in producing medicines using plants and extracts.

Synthetic medicines are tried and tested on medical laboratories. These products are ensured with quality by spending tons and tons of money for research and production. As a result, these products show immediate effects when it comes to curing certain diseases and ailments.

But there are a few concerns that not just the Organic Movement would complain. For one, there are synthetic medicines that are very costly. A lot of us have experienced being prescribed with medicines that are very expensive. And that leaves us without any choice but to buy them.
And worse, there has been this dilemma that chemical laden products would, in turn, show side effects in the long term. Our skepticism only increases when we go online and search for testimonies about real people experiencing side effects after a certain period of medication.
Natural health products, on the other hand, have been around for quite some time. Although not all of us are aware of it synthetic medicines might instill modernity to a few, but herbalism was the first conventional treatment that humanity has had.

Herbalism is the study and use of medicinal properties obtained from plants and plant extracts. Today, herbal medicines are often preferred than that of synthetic ones in the thought of these products are not full of chemicals that we fear. For sure none of us would complain that vegetables and fruits are not good for the body, and the idea of using these in medicine is of great ideal.

As what was stated above majority, if not all, of these herbal products are not clinically tested. So the medical world can always claim that any side effects, regardless if it were caused by taking these meds or not, are all caused by using non-prescribed products. But it doesn't matter which side we should pick in this matter, and it's always our reserve to think that they're having this debate to maintain profits. All we can hope for is that they arrive at the same conclusion that synthetic or natural what should matter is the sole purpose of a medicine's existence; to cure.
