Have you ever heard the saying, "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"? It is especially true when it comes to acne.
Imagine a lack of prevention measures on your part, eventually breakouts happen and you do whatever it takes to cure the acne.
You try to pop the zits, or maybe you try some conventional treatment methods.
Perhaps you got a temporary relief, but then it all came back and it got ever worse.
There are even scars and marks on your face because of you popping the pimples.
Sound familiar? Maybe it never happened to you but I certainly do not want that to happen to you.
Below are some tips that will show you how to prevent acne.
Cleansing your skin It is the most essential acne prevention measure you can take.
However, how do you choose which cleansing product to use when there are literally hundreds of products out there? I highly recommend using a gentle soap like tea tree soap, or any product that is 100% natural that contains tea tree oil.
I personally use it and it really prevents breakouts.
Most of the over-the-counter products have chemicals that will completely dry out your skin, even the natural oils that are produced to maintain normal pH balance.
It will leave your skin dry and irritated which creates an acne prone environment.
Also, add a skin toner to your arsenal in addition to washing your face.
Do Not Zit-pop Most people have a really bad habit of zit popping, and I know it is a hard one to break.
Pimples look ugly and even hurts sometimes and it seems that the only way to make it go away fast is to pop them.
Yes, that will give a temporary relief.
However, popping pimples forces the bacteria further down the skin and can cause further irritation to the problem area and skin surrounding it.
Worse yet, it could leave you scars and marks.
Watch your lifestyle.
Incorporate fruits and veggies in your diet; consume food that is high in antioxidant (e.
g.
tomatoes, any kind of berries (I personally love blueberries), walnuts, seeds).
Consume small frequent meals every 2-3 hours to keep your hormones in balance.
Also, exercise regularly; cardiovascular exercises such as running is a great way to remove toxins from your body.
Perform at least three times a week.
Did you know that the cell regeneration process begins from 12 midnight? Irregular sleeping patterns will certainly affect your hormonal balance thus causing acne to form.
So try to cut down on late night TV and get to bed early.
There is no sure way to cure acne and there could be other factors to its causes.
Some tips may be more crucial to you depending on your skin type.
Do not expect your acne to magically disappear and have that perfect skin after a week or two.
It takes time.
Do not deviate from your acne treatment routine or you will not get the best results.
You need to be really dedicated and consistent if you want that clear acne-free skin.
