How to Reverse Legal Separation in Washington State

    • 1). Go to the family law facilitator’s office at the clerk of courts office in the county in which the separation agreement was filed. Both husband and wife must be present.

    • 2). Complete the paperwork given to you by the family law facilitator’s office. Along with general paperwork, you will be given an order that must be signed by a judge to dismiss the separation.

    • 3). Take the order to the judge presiding over the walk-in court. No appointment or hearing date is needed to attend the walk-in court. It will typically be located in the same building as the clerk of courts office.

    • 4). Explain to the judge that you have reconciled and would like to dismiss the legal separation. Give the order to the judge to sign. Once the order is signed, it will be filed with the clerk’s office and the separation will be dismissed.
