How to Install Auto Gauges in a 2002 VW Beetle

    • 1). Disconnect the car's negative battery cable, loosening the clamp nut with your wrench.

    • 2). Lower the steering column as far down as possible and then pull it out as far as it will go using the tilt lever.

    • 3). Pull the arc-shaped cluster bezel surrounding the cluster straight out and towards you to remove it from its clips ad disconnect it.

    • 4). Remove the instrument cluster's screws with your screwdriver, pull the cluster toward you and disconnect the electrical connectors to remove it.

    • 5). Install the new cluster and gauges within the panel using the electrical connectors and screws.

    • 6). Clip the trim bezel back in place over the gauge cluster and raise the steering column back into position.

    • 7). Reconnect the battery cable.
