- The Yamaha Royal Star is a cruiser that has been manufactured by Yamaha's Star Motorcycles division since 1996. It was the first motorcycle to be introduced under the Star line and, as of 2010, remains in production. Three trims of the motorcycle exist: the Venture, Venture S and the Tour Deluxe.
- Both the Royal Star Venture and Venture S are 104.5 feet in length, 35.4 inches in width, 61.6 inches in height, provide 6.1 inches of ground clearance and have 67.1 inches in wheelbase -- giving the motorcycle a turning radius of 11.5 feet. The Tour Deluxe has slightly different dimensions, measuring 98.6 inches in length, 39.8 inches in width and 60.0 inches in height. The Venture and Venture S have a fuel capacity of 6.0 gallons and a wet weight of 869 lbs., whereas the Tour Deluxe has a fuel capacity of 5.3 gallons and a wet weight of 844 lbs.
- The exterior of the Royal Star is fitted with front and rear steel-plated fenders, and chrome-plated fenders in the Venture S trim. Additionally, a plastic wind deflector, two side cases -- with a capacity of 9.3 gallons -- side storage mounts, a rear-hard vinyl rack and a helmet storage area are fitted onto the motorcycle's exterior. The mechanics are fitted with a radiator cover and valve stems.
- All models of the Yamaha Royal Star are equipped with a V-4, four-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine in a DOHC configuration. It has a bore and stroke of 3.11 and 2.6 inches respectively, coupled with a compression ratio of 10:1. This produces a displacement of 1,294 cc, a maximum power of 74 horsepower at 4,750 rpm, a maximum torque of 82.6 foot-pounds at 3,500 rpm and a power-to-weight ratio of 0.243 hp/kg. Fuel is delivered using four 32-mm Mikuni carburetors. The manual transmission is five speed and equipped with overdrive. The Royal Star has a combined fuel consumption of 42 miles per gallon.
- With a rake angle of 29 degrees, the chassis is fitted with telescopic-fork suspension in the front and twin-sided, swing-arm suspension in the rear. The suspension travel in the front and rear is 4.1 and 5.5 inches respectively. Both sets of suspension are fitted with front adjustable rebound damping. The front of the Royal Star is fitted with a 150/80 HR16 tire and 11.7-inch dual-hydraulic disc brake, while the rear is fitted with a 150/90 HR15 tire and a 12.6-inch single-hydraulic disc brake.
