After the long wait, finally Bugaboo have announced that a new upgraded version of the buggy will be launched this coming September.
The new version will be called the Bugaboo Cameleon3.
According to sources at Bugaboo, all of the features which had been highlighted over the years that could do with improving have been.
The iconic Bugaboo stroller just got better and easier to use! The opening and closing mechanism completely redesigned to make it both faster and easier to open.
Unfolding the current model has sometimes caused issued but this is resolved in the Generation 3 and will simply require lifting the handlebar with ONE hand, thus making the wheels kick out.
The chassis will be quickly locked - even without the seat unit in place.
Then the seat, carrycot or car seat can be popped on and used.
In keeping with design features seen on the New Bugaboo Bee and the Bugaboo Donkey, the chassis has been improved and streamlined to make it look more sturdy and sleek.
There is a new sliding adjustable harness with thicker straps and more padding similar to the Donkey.
The handlebar will have six setting steps to it with grooves to make it easy to adjust as seen on both the Bee and the Donkey.
The quick release wheels will have off-white coloured release buttons instead of paperclip type pins.
The bits that stick up above the front wheels on the 2nd generation have gone and the top of the wheel sockets is now flatter.
The foam tyres have been improved to give an even better ride.
The carry cot will be flat fold with a single handed release.
The hard support strips, which make the current carry cot solid at the ends, are now sewn into the fabric and are magnetic.
Therefore a quick pull of the velcro will release these and the carry cot instantly folds flat.
There will also be a larger under seat basket to provide additional storage which is always welcome here! The new under seat basket will press-stud on rather than velcro on.
The Brake has been re-designed to make it easier to operate too and the wrist tether strap on the handlebar will be quite a bit shorter.
The chassis has been improved and is stronger with no additional weight increase.
The new buggy will be available with a sand, dark grey, black and dark brown bases with 8 tailored fabric choices.
There will be a new petrol blue colour.
We are waiting for confirmation as to whether the current Tailored Fabrics will fit on the new version.
