Drain on Resources

Access to care has been a major topic over the years. With the decrease in primary care providers, initiatives such as after-hours, double-booking, group visits are just a few of the ways providers have attempted to meet this need. A patient who uses an appointment and has no intention of following the suggested plan, or schedules an appointment and never shows up, takes an appointment away from another patient who would benefit from the provider's time. A provider may feel they owe it to their practice to weed-out those who create a drain on limited resources.
