- 1). Take your roller shades down. Unroll them as far as they can possibly go. Measure their length and width. Record your measurements so you know how much fabric to purchase.
- 2). Shop for fabric that is lightweight and easy to glue. Use a cotton print for guaranteed results. Decide if you are going to put fabric on just the inside of the shade, or if you want to cover the outside as well.
- 3). Now it's time to get creative. If you bought more than one fabric, see how they look together. Try putting one type of fabric on the top part of your shade and the complementary fabric on the bottom half . Do the opposite on the other shade (if you have more than one). Repeat this pattern or put the opposite on the backside of the shade.
- 4). After you've determined your layout, cut the fabric the exact size of the shade, making sure to cover it completely. Apply glue and secure your fabric to the shade. Smooth out any lumps.
- 5). Allow the glue to dry completely before re-installing your shade.
