- 1). Tape newspaper onto your Spyder's window's and windshield using masking tape. This will protect your windows from damage during the replacement.
- 2). Remove the clips from the rear deck using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the Phillips screw using the screwdriver. Set the screw and clips aside.
- 3). Remove the clips on the rain rail using a socket wrench. Remove the nuts on the rain rail using a socket wrench. Pull the rear bars away from the Spyder.
- 4). Grasp the front of the Spyder convertible top and pull it towards the front of the car. Remove the screws on the Spyder's set pate using a slotted screwdriver. Pull the molding away from the spyder, pulling it outwards. Remove the fabric rivets that connect the convertible top to the rest of the car using a rivet gun.
- 5). Remove the Spyder's convertible top by gently pulling it from the car. Clear any snagged parts of the convertible.
- 6). Place the new convertible top over the rain rail. Reattach the rivets using a rivet gun. Reassemble the rain guard using a screwdriver. Reattach the remaining parts of the convertible top, in the opposite order that you removed them.
