How to Replace Power Valves on a Holley Double Pumper

    • 1). Remove the four bolts attaching the fuel bowl to the carburetor body using a 5/16-inch wrench or nut driver.

    • 2). Remove the fuel bowl and metering block. The metering block is sandwiched between the fuel bowl and the main carburetor body. If the fuel bowl or metering block is stuck, gently tap to loosen them. Be careful not to damage the soft aluminum castings.

    • 3). Remove the power valve. The power valve is situated in the metering block, facing the carburetor body. Unscrew the power valve using a 1-inch wrench or socket.

    • 4). Install the new power valve. Place a new gasket over the threads of the power valve, and screw the power valve into the metering block. Tighten finger tight, plus 1/8 turn.

    • 5). Install the metering block and fuel bowl on the carburetor body. Using new gaskets, first attach the metering block to the carburetor body with the power valve facing the body, and then attach the fuel bowl to the metering block. Install the four bolts and tighten finger tight plus one-quarter turn.
