Kitchen Cleaning Hints

There is nothing more satisfying than a clean kitchen. A clean kitchen is a must when it comes to preparing healthy meals. Kitchen cleaning hints are very useful to anyone who is ready to use them.

Let?s start with the appliances. A common appliance in our kitchen is the refrigerator. Keeping it clean and smelling fresh requires a bit of care. The best way to eliminate such foul smells is to place a few charcoal briquettes on a plate in the refrigerator. When the pieces of charcoal seem to stop working, simply warm them up in a frying pan for a few minutes. Removing dust from beneath your refrigerator is one of the easiest ways to make it last for years. You should move it every three months so that you can give it a good cleaning since that pesky dirt really sticks to the bottom, but don?t forget to unplug it to reduce the risk of shock.

Speaking of smell, there is nothing quite as foul as the smell of a dirty garbage disposal, but it?s actually quite simple to make the smell go away. Toss in a few rinds from citrus fruits and turn the disposal on. An even more powerful method is to make a batch of ice cubes with a healthy dose of vinegar in them; pour the ice cubes down the drain and turn it on. The smell will disappear almost immediately! Before doing this, however, you should test the disposal with one or two cubes to make sure that it is strong enough.

Another kitchen cleaning hint is organizing your utensil drawers. You can try buying a rotating tie rack that you can put on the counter, from which you can hang utensils that have holes in their handles, such as ladles, and certain knives. You can also put all your table flatware in a cup or jar on the counter, so that all utensils are within reach at mealtime. Finally, to stop any utensils that are in drawers from rattling, try lining the drawer with a thin layer of Styrofoam.
