- 1). Speak with Greagoir. Choose the side for which you will fight; the mages or the Templars. Walk through the barrier and speak with the first mage you encounter. She will ask you for help. Offer to help her and she will let you pass without trouble.
- 2). Search the first floor of the Circle Tower. Fight and defeat all enemies and collect any treasures you encounter. Once you encounter the Greater Rage Demon, defeat it and walk up the stairs to the second floor.
- 3). Enter the stockroom and speak with Owain. Take the items in the stockroom, including the Black Grimoire, a key item for Morrigan's personal side quest. Exit the stockroom and defeat the mages outside who have set up a magical barrier. The last of the mages will beg for her life. Kill her to stay on the right path toward "Templar's Nightmare."
- 4). Search the second floor for treasure and defeat all enemies you encounter. Walk up the stairs to the third floor. Defeat the enemies on the third floor, including the Arcane Horror. Search for treasure in each room. Defeat the enemies in front of the stairs and then walk up to the fourth floor.
- 5). Walk into the center room and encounter a Sloth Demon who will send you to "The Fade," the second part of your quest.
- 6). Find Duncan in the Grey Warden fortress and defeat him in battle. Walk to the Fade Pedestal to encounter Niall. Walk East to the Fade Portal. Enter the portal and defeat the Rage Demon who rewards you with "Mouse Form," which allows you to enter mouse holes. Enter the nearby mouse hole and defeat the Lesser Rage Demon on the other side. Walk into the nearby Fade Portal and defeat the demons. Walk to the end of the L-shaped area and enter the Fade Portal. Niall will suggest you collect more forms. Agree with him and head to "Darkspawn Invasion," the third part of your quest.
- 7). Walk through the mouse holes to encounter the Hurlock Emissary. Defeat the Hurlock Emissary and enter the mouse hole next to the wall of fire. Defeat the Darkspawn to gain "Spirit Form," which allows you to see hidden items and doors. Defeat the enemies and find the mouse hole west of the tower. Enter the mouse hole. Walk through the door on the right. Walk through the next door on the left. Defeat the Burning Templars and walk up the stairs. Navigate through the fire maze and enter the mouse hole at the end. Defeat the enemies and enter a second mouse hole. Defeat the Burning Templar to gain "Burning Man Form," which allows you to pass through fire.
- 8). Walk south until you reach a door. Walk east until you reach a Fade Portal. Do not enter the portal; enter the mouse hole and walk into the Fade Portal at the other end. Walk east until you reach the Fade Pedestal. Step onto the Pedestal to travel to "Mage Asunder," the last step before "Templar's Nightmare.
- 9). Enter the mouse hole on the right. Defeat the enemies using "Burning Man Form" and continue walking to the right until you pass through the fire. Defeat the enemies and walk up the stairs to the second floor. Defeat the enemies, including the Stone Golems who reward you with "Golem Form." The "Golem Form" allows you to smash through normally unbreakable barriers. Smash through the metal doorway using this form.

Kill the Golems and Priests. Walk into the maze and search each of the six pathways to collect the six Essences. Enter the room in the middle of the maze to fight Slavren. Defeat Slavren to complete "Mage Asunder." Once you complete "Mage Asunder," "Templar's Nightmare" automatically begins.
