Hybrid Fleet Strategy

    Utility/Government Fleets

    • As the government is encouraging more and more people to buy hybrid cars and giving tax breaks and other perks to people who do so, it has begun to practice what it preaches. Government vehicles in major cities all over the country have all begun to go hybrid, ranging from utility fleets, to public transportation buses, to city officials' vehicles. This is one of the perfect examples of the government taking the lead and reminding people that they are fully in support of being environmentally conscious and invested in reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

    Taxi Cabs

    • Taxi cab companies have also been switching their cabs over to hybrid models, as the meter still runs while the car idles in traffic, but no gas is expended by the driver. As the driver usually pays for the cab himself, many have opted to make this investment for their own livelihoods, as a hybrid taxi not only signals to the passenger that the cab is new and kept up but is also good for the environment, which is becoming more and more of a powerful sales tool.

    Trucking Companies

    • For trucking companies where their business is moving shipments from point A to point B in the quickest amount of time, a lower bottom line makes all the difference. With hybrid truck engines and flex fuel, the initial investment in the hybrid engine will quickly pay off through fuel savings to allow their trucks to run their routes in a timely manner. Better gas mileage means less money spent on gas, but also fewer stops for the truck, meaning the delivery times will be better and truckers will feel less stress.
