- 1). Find a web hosting provider. Determine if you will use a free hosting service like Angelfire or a paid hosting plan such as Web.com or GoDaddy.com. Sign up for the service of your choice and make any necessary payments.
- 2). Choose a domain name or URL for your new web site such as www.myrobotweb site.com or myrobotweb site.hostingcompany.com. Incorporate the word "robot" somewhere within the website's name.
- 3). Research web site or HTML editors, such as CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor or Adobe Dreamweaver, and choose which program fits your needs. Some web hosting providers come standard with an HTML editor or WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor.
- 4). Locate an image editor, such as GIMP, that can be used to manipulate or create graphics for your robot web site. Design a header image---located at the top of your pages---which includes the name of the robot website and any imagery you wish visitors to associate with the web site. Create any other graphics you would like included on the web site including backgrounds, buttons and banners.
- 5). Using the web page editor choose the color palette for your website. Incorporate similar colors from any robot pictures you may be posting to the website. Insert additional robot images, text and links into the body of your website.
- 6). Publish your robot website using your web page editor software. Test the website to ensure it is accessible by typing the URL into the address window of your browser. Check any links you added to the website to make sure they are pointed to the correct website address.
- 7). Invite people to your web site using social media options such as Facebook and Twitter. Promote your robot web site within the robot community by visiting other web sites and offering link exchanges. Commenting on robot web sites with a link back to your site will also increase traffic to your new robot web site.
