How to Maintain a 1991 Acura Integra LS

    • 1). Replace the motor oil and filter every 3,500-5,000 miles. This is probably the most important maintenance item as it helps ensure engine health and longevity. A tire rotation and pressue check is also recommended at the same time.

    • 2). Perform a vehicle tune-up. Usually done once a year, this includes replacing the air filter, spark plugs, wires, and the cap/rotor assembly. In addition, you may choose (depending on the number of miles driven) to flush coolant and transmission fluids.

    • 3). Check the brakes, and replace when rotors become warped and pads are worn. Typically done every three years (depending on driving style and type of city/freeway driving) or 40,000 miles, a full brake job is recommended to replace worn items such as rotors and pads. Calipers are prone to seizing (especially in the rear), and should be taken apart for full cleaning and lubrication after 40,000 miles.

    • 4). Replace tires when less than 2/32 of an inch of measurable tread is left.

    • 5). Clean all inside plastic and vinyl surfaces with protectant wipes, and vacuum the seats. Wash the exterior with soapy water and and a soft sponge. Wax afterwards if desired.
