How to Diagnose Trigger Finger

    • 1). Straighten out all your fingers.

    • 2). Look for swelling around the base of your fingers.

    • 3). Touch your hand and feel for any tender lumps in your palm.

    • 4). Bend each of your fingers slowly and then quickly. Be aware of any catching or popping sensations in any of your finger or thumb joints. Also be aware of any stiffness or pain when straightening out your fingers.

    • 5). See your doctor if you notice any of the above symptoms.
